The Opportunity
- Dove Centre is seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to provide leadership, mentorship, and support to a team delivering services to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role combines frontline support with supervisory responsibilities and plays a key role in ensuring quality services, staff development, and positive outcomes for individuals served.
- The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader who is passionate about inclusion, person-centered practices, and empowering individuals to achieve their goals.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, coaching, and support to direct service staff.
- Assist with staff scheduling, orientation, training, performance management, and ongoing development.
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with agency policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support the development and implementation of person-centered plans.
- Coordinate services and collaborate with families, guardians, community agencies, and other service providers.
- Participate in risk assessments, case planning, and problem-solving to support positive outcomes.
- Assist individuals in achieving personal, social, vocational, recreational, and community participation goals.
- Promote community inclusion, natural supports, and meaningful relationships.
- Complete and review documentation, reports, and service records.
- Serve as a resource to staff during challenging situations and crisis situations.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities as required.
- Transport and accompany individuals to appointments, community activities, and other programs as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Human Services, Disability Studies, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum three years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or complex support needs.
- Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, mentoring, or coaching experience.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience developing and implementing person-centered plans.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence, clean driver’s abstract, and reliable transportation. Regular travel within the community is required.
- Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Assets
- First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Suicide Intervention Training.
- Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and program coordination.
- Experience working with community agencies and support networks.
